This post contains book-destroying spoilers for Blue at the Mizzen by Patrick O'Brian. The non-spoiler post is here.

Didn't they get struck by a passing ship really recently?

I don't dislike Christine as a person, but I dislike her as implicit commentary on Diana, and I dislike that she starts coming around to Stephen's proposal not because of her own feelings but because he's distressed and she doesn't want to upset him. Way to subordinate your own feelings to the desires of a man!

Otherwise I don't have a lot to say about this. I mean, it's nice they finally did their Chilean adventure and all, but it never really came into focus for me.
