I read this book a couple years ago. Since I didn't have any previous knowledge about how prisons are run, I found it to be a fascinating read. The subject material is interesting, and the prose is very engaging. It's not dry at all, as one might stereotypically expect from a nonfiction book. I second the recommendation wholeheartedly.
