It makes the Lorien section, heretofore the weakest part of the movie, &lt;strong&gt;much&lt;/strong&gt; better, much more coherent. It just fills in a lot of little corners as far as backstory and interaction among characters, the sort of thing to warm a fan's heart. (Merry and Pippin's reaction to Legolas telling them about &lt;em&gt;lembas&lt;/em&gt; is priceless)...&lt;/p&gt;</description>
